Foundation Announces Funds for Three Organizations

In an effort to support the communities it serves the Geneseo Communications Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce that funds totaling $90,000 have been awarded to three organizations.

$50,000 - Geneseo Park District - The Geneseo Park District's Community Center offers a multi purpose facility to the residents of Geneseo and the surrounding area including a gymnasium, sauna, walking and jogging track, weight and cardiovascular room, racquetball courts, indoor swimming pool plus a Senior Citizens area with full kitchen facilities. According to Bob Orsi, "one of the most used areas of the facility is the weight and cardiovascular room. This room features the very latest in weight and cardio equipment made possible in part by the funds awarded us from the Geneseo Communications Charitable Foundation. This new equipment benefits the Centers 4,250 plus members."

$15,000 - Geneseo Performing Arts Council (GPAC) - GPAC serves the performing arts departments of Geneseo Community Unit School District 228. Its purpose is to promote and maintain an enthusiastic interest in the performing arts including speech, drama, band and choral. Funds awarded from Geneseo Communications Charitable Foundation will be used toward the purchase of new stage lighting units, new stereo systems and a new band instrument (marimba). This new equipment will benefit more than 1,100 current students within the elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as future students.

$25,000 - Geneseo School Facility Enhancement Foundation - Built in 2003 the Geneseo Schools Athletic Facility has been host to a variety of events including the FFA Toy Show, Nurse's Health Awareness Day, and several youth tournaments and practices. The facility has allowed for expansion within the schools physical education departments as well as the sports programs eliminating the need for early morning and late evening practices. Made possible in part by funds awarded from the Geneseo Communications Charitable Foundation, this wonderful new facility benefits the entire community and impacts thousands of students and will continue to do so for many years to come.

The Geneseo Communications Charitable Foundation is focused on benefiting the residents within the servicing area of Geneseo Telephone Company, and is proud to be a part of supporting the above organizations.
