New Gazebo for Atkinson equipped with FREE Wireless Internet Service!

Karen Kohne, Chairman of the Board of Henry County Telephone Company, announced today, the awarding of $3,000.00 to the city of Atkinson to be used toward construction of a new gazebo located in the city park. "This beautiful new gazebo is designed with old time Victorian charm but is equipped with today's modern communication technology", said Ms. Kohne. In addition to the $3,000.00 building contribution, the company donated the equipment necessary to outfit the gazebo with a wireless internet connection providing the city of Atkinson with a free wireless hotspot in their city park.

In a statement, Ms. Kohne commented that "it is important for our company to give back to the communities we serve. Helping efforts to raise the city park gazebo along with bringing the latest in wireless Internet connections to the community of Atkinson, its residents and visitors is just one way we accomplish this commitment."

The wireless Internet Service will allow residents and visitors of the park with standard wireless equipped laptops and PDA's access to the World Wide Web. "Visitors to the park will be able to relax under the new gazebo while enjoying the convenience of a free wireless connection,allowing them to send and receive e-mail and surf the Internet at high connection speeds at no charge", said Ms. Kohne.

As part of its commitment to the communities it serves, Henry County Telephone Company has participated in many community projects such as donating toward the building of the Atkinson Veterans' Memorial and helping to provide new emergency training equipment for the Atkinson volunteer fire department.
