Down With The Old Up With The New

Geneseo Telephone Company announced today its plans to construct a new building in place of the former Precision Alignment building located at the corner of State and Exchange Street in Geneseo.

The new 4,500 square foot building will include a new store front location for the IDC TechCenter currently located at 106 S. State Street, Geneseo. IDC TechCenter serves the community of Geneseo and the surrounding area offering a full line of computer systems, accessories and repair services. The new store front will feature a larger retail area and learning center for customer training, system displays and gaming demonstrations. The building will also include a technically sophisticated computer upgrade and repair service center to better assist customers with their computer repair needs. In addition the building will serve the company with needed office space for its Accounting department and printing services.

"The exterior design of the building was very important to us", said Scott Rubins, President and CEO of Geneseo Telephone Company. "The design of the building needed to meet our needs but equally important we wanted the building to enhance the downtown business district while complimenting the current architecture of the downtown area. For those reasons", commented Rubins, "we decided to go with a solid red brick exterior."

Demolition of the former Precision Alignment building has already begun with construction for the new building set to begin by July. Geneseo Telephone Company is hopeful the new building will be complete and ready for operation by February, 2007.
